Alphie is a handsome boy, but to answer your question in my opinion, no. Very hard to judge from the pics, but he looks pretty tall. Muzzle appears sl. longer than desired. He also seems high in the rear. Was he bought as a show prospect?
Avery (aka Avery Marie)
The muzzle length is fine (many many show dogs are getting far too short muzzled) but his lack of / splotchy pigment may hurt him. Really couldn't tell that much about structure from the photos posted. Looks like maybe he'd definitely enjoy some performance events though--- have you thought about that?

Was he purchased on full registration as a show dog?

No i just boght him from a guy who sells them. He really loves playing fetch ...like ...really really loves playing fetch. It's like he goes totally insane when i pull out a ball or frisbie. Took him to 2 shows as a baby and junior. Got Very Promising of first then 2x EXEC.
Did you do any research on this breeder? There are allot of back-yard breeders these days. Did he come with papers? Were the parents on site? Find a Breeder - The Labrador Retriever Club, Inc. You can search him on here.

Well, if you've got money to burn then go ahead and show him. However, and I say this kindly, the chances of him winning with competition is small. Most show dogs are bred for that purpose. A dog randomly bred rarely, if ever, amounts to being a top show dog.
He sounds like quite the retriever. Why not do retrieving events with him? It sounds right up his alley.
